Represented Artists Chan-Peng LO continues his ambition of “The Wanderer in the Mist” which takes 8 years to complete. This year audience will take a peek of an iceberg by a 200F size work. Yang-Tsung FAN who just finished his solo will continue the heat of his Swimming Pool Series at ART TAIPAI. Chen-Dao Lee’s” Tender Girls “for the first time will leap out of the canvas and appear in 3D sculpture. Chih-Hung KUO and Yih-Han Wu came back from Germany has won collectors’ heart in Taiwan. This year they take it up a notch, separately attract much attention in London and Tokyo. Swept major photo festivals and biennales across the world, Chao-Linag SHEN just won the photo book award in Dali Photography World Expo. The audience in Taipei will have the great chance to see his “STAGE” again closely this time! Last year’s MIT award winner Wen-Di YOU impressed collectors with her delicate Chinese painting skill and contemporary approach, her work deserves you to appreciate closely.
Mater Sculptures from Japan Japan’s national treasure sculptor Katsura FUNAKOSHI‘s nude half body is as worth looking for as last year’s debut! Animal human of Satoru KOIZUMI is always popular among collectors. It will certainly arouse a hot topic in the fair again. Moreover, Yoshimasa TSUCHIYA’s fabulous woodcarving also returns to Taiwan! Last but not least, Kunihiro AKINAGA fills the booth with a quiet intensity by condensing eternal life within ceramic bones. Takafumi YAGI’s color pencil carved chandelier light up audience hearts with its moderate colorful temperature.
MIT special selection－Ko-Wei HUANG At the other end of the fair:《MIT》selection area, up-and-coming artist Ko-Wei HUANG declares his status in Taiwanese contemporary art scene. By special artistic language, Huang challenges audience’s visual perception and experience.
Over ten years of perseverance, dialogue between Taiwan and Japan created by AKI continues to grow strong and vigorous. Besides taking a firm position and a brand in contemporary art market, we look forward to expand the influence to the western world.
