【AUCTION RESULTS】 Good news from Sotheby's New York: #TheMackloweCollection just closed with 35 works sold for a total of $680 million, 68.5% of which were sold above estimate, and No. 7 by #MarkRothko was the highest priced lot in the sale at $89.31 million, set a record for the artist.
Besides, Number 17, 1951 by #JacksonPollock set a new #record for the artist with a price that exceeded the lower estimate by two times at $61.16 million. The other works that set new records for several artists include Untitled #44 by Agnes Martin at $17.73 million, Untitled by Robert at $8.33 million, and Track Painting by Michael Heizer at $1.11 million.
The second half of the auction is scheduled for next May, with 30 rare works still waiting to go on sale.
