Tainan is often thought of as a traditional and cultural place with some of the nicest people on earth, but it is also a home of innovation and change. A new style of gym has been born, right here, in the heart of Tainan. It encompasses the personality and style of Tainan by combining a traditional gym with a new concept that will surprise you, satisfy you, and save you lots of money.
All Cardio fitness is open 24 hours 7 days a week and provides several different types of equipment to help you achieve your fitness goals. This particular type of gym doesn't offer weights, instead, it is designed for the majority of people that would rather focus on cardio vascular health and avoid weights and getting the “body builder look”. By doing streamlining its functions, All Cardio Fitness has been able to provide a coin operated payment system that allows you to pay as you go and eliminate contracts and long term money commitments, such as traditional gyms, every gym goers dream come true.
To give you a better picture of these new cardio centers, think about a Laundromat and the way you pay to wash and dry your clothes, remove the washers and dryers, and add cardio vascular equipment. When you enter the cardio center, you can buy tokens from a money changer near the entrance. After you get your tokens, go into the exercise area where you will find treadmills, recumbent bikes, regular seated bikes, cross trainers, and stair steppers. Choose the type of machine that gives you the best experience and works best with your needs. Once you choose your machines, a token box with a timer is located next to it, insert your tokens and the timer will give you 20 minutes. Don't forget to bring a book or music so that you have something to do while you exercise. When your time is completed, an alarm on the machine will remind you that your time is finish. Be careful, if you don't insert your coin, an alarm will inform all the other customers and the owner that you haven't paid.
We asked the owners why they built such a place and what was the inspiration for the new model of gyms. They told us that this may not work anywhere else but Taiwan. They have no employees and everything is automated, this allowed them to keep the overhead low and prevent them from using the much hated contract. People in Taiwan are so honest that they don't need to worry about vandalism or theft. After working in gyms his whole life, one of the owners explained that everyone hated the gym contracts, no one wanted to make the long commitment. Unfortunately, because of the high cost of running a gym, they have no choice but to have these one, two, and sometimes three year contracts. These can also cause a lot of anger and disunity between the customer and business. He sad that they just want people to exercise, be healthy, and be happy without destroying the relationship over money.
All Cardio Fitness has now expanded into there third location, the latest being on Xiadong Rd. The second location is located on Gongyuna S Rd and Ximen Rd and their original location is on Linsen Rd. Across from the brick high school. Go and take a look for yourself.
